ELECTROLUX PARTNERS WITH STICKY RICE COOKING SCHOOL

Electrolux is proud to continue its partnership with Sticky Rice Cooking School, a specialist in Asian cuisine and cooking techniques, located in Adelaide Hills, South Australia.

Sticky Rice Cooking School was established by Claire Fuller in 2008. Since opening, the unique culinary experience offered by Sticky Rice has received notable accolade including Gold Medal for the 2011 South Australian Tourism Awards, 2013 TQUAL accredited Tourism Business and 2013 winners of the SA Architecture Awards.

Sticky Rice has recently opened three luxury villas on the premises. Guests can choose from the tropically inspired “Bali”, the stylish monochromatic “Zen” or the clean lines of the Japanese inspired “Yoko”. Each villa is individually styled and architecturally designed for seamless indoor and outdoor living. Floor to ceiling glass surrounds each villa allowing views and easy access to the private enclosed courtyards and landscaped gardens.

Both the villas and the cooking school feature premium kitchen appliances by Electrolux, to provide guests and class participants with the very latest in cooking technology. Appliances include fridges, ovens, cook tops, dishwashers, microwaves, laundry items and coffee machines for each villa. The new outdoor Bali Hut cooking area features state of the art appliances including Electrolux integrated BBQs.

Guests at Sticky Rice can choose to prepare a home cooked meal in their private villa or take part in a group cooking class. During the hands-on classes, chefs share their expertise, as well as best-kept industry secrets; helping participants to create restaurant quality dishes in exotic cuisines such as Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, Japanese, Indonesian and Malaysian.

Electrolux shares Sticky Rice’s passion for cooking and is thrilled to continue its partnership with such an inspiring and innovative cooking school.

Sponsors of the New Sticky Rice Villas Accommodation

We would like to formally acknowledge the input and sponsorship of these companies and the Australian Government who have helped make the building of the Villas possible.

This project is co-funded by the Australian Government under T-QUAL Grants. Thanks to the grant we are able to afford to build a much superior quality and size of accommodation. A massive thank you from us and we look forward to the launch party!

The building team we used are from Rok Solid Construction Pty Ltd and they sponsored us a substantial sum. They have been fantastic, have delivered on time and on budget and have excellent customer service standards. We highly recommend them.

Jag Kitchens kindly sponsored us a substantial discount which enabled us to choose 3 top of the range kitchens for the villas including a demonstration style kitchen in the managers villa where we can cook lunch after our new Gourmet tours. We can’t wait!

The building was designed and project managed by John Adam Architect. John has been inspiration to work with and his creative design has delivered us a superior light filled space for each of the villas.

Electrolux Home Products Pty Ltd have sponsored the entire kitchen fit our including fridges, cook tops, dishwashers, microwaves, ovens, laundry items and even the espresso coffee machines for each villa! We’re thinking of you!

We were also fortunate enough to be awarded a South Australian Tourism grant as part of the Government’s ongoing investment through the South Australian Tourism Commission’s (SATC) Tourism Development Fund. This was a direct contribution to the cost of making the villas a sustainable, energy saving build including adding solar energy, underfloor evacuated tube heating and double glazing. Cosy in winter and cool in summer!

For all the support and investment..we thank you and we look forward to opening the doors to this quality accommodation in March 2013.

Government Supports SA Tourism Development

16 December 2011

Four South Australian tourism developments, worth a total of $2.4 million, will go ahead with the help of State Government grants.

The developments include adding luxury eco villas to an Adelaide Hills cooking school, creating a
world-class restaurant in a Barossa winery, and redeveloping a railway station to benefit an iconic
Flinders Ranges train.

Tourism Minister Gail Gago says the four $50,000 grants are part of the Government’s ongoing investment through the South Australian Tourism Commission’s (SATC) Tourism Development Fund.

The fund assists tourism operators across the state who are building new and innovative tourism
accommodation, attractions and tours, as well as revitalising and updating existing tourism ventures.

“Tourism, directly and indirectly, employs more than 53,000 South Australians, including many in regional areas, and tourism is often an economic lifeline for our state’s regional economies,” the Minister said.

Among the grant recipients is award-winning Sticky Rice Cooking School, which will be constructing two new Asian-themed luxury eco villas, increasing the availability of high-end accommodation in the Adelaide Hills, and creating a full food and wine holiday experience to encourage visitors to stay
longer in the region.

Grant recipient Claire Fuller, who owns Sticky Rice Cooking School, says she and her team have
been working closely with the SATC to promote food and wine tourism in the Adelaide Hills and South Australia for several years now.

“The new villas are part of our big picture plan,” Ms Fuller said.

“We are delighted the SATC shares our vision and will be helping us to attract more people to our cooking classes.

“This will also give people the opportunity to stay in the region and experience all the attractions of the Adelaide Hills.”
